The night falls on the wall paintings of the Citadella in Budapest

The Citadella on the Buda side of Budapest is a fortress on the hill top overlooking the Danube River. We are walking alongside the river and the light disappears fast. There is just enough time to take a few pictures of the walls and steps leading to the Citadella.

People who like wall paintings will be in for a treat. The walls and gate houses are so fantastic. Certainly below the arches the paintings are so divers, all kinds of patterns against a surprising black background.

  1. These are so artistic! and I also like the beautiful detailed work of the building. It is huge! It must be very old, and then restored at some point?

  2. Hi there, I am not blogging very often any more, but I have just posted today and by coincidence photos from Budapest! I was there in March and fell in love with this beautiful city.
