Beer Party in the Löwenbrӓu hall of the Oktoberfest 2014, Munich

The Oktoberfest is the largest party event in the world. In two weeks it gets between five and six million visitors and they all have fun. Some of them because they drink liters beer others because they enjoy watching the drinkers. I belong to the second category. Being in Munich for work, I cannot afford to get drunk but love to see others dance and cheer.

Most of the time men drink a lot in bars but here at the Oktoberfest you should not underestimate the ladies. In traditional dirndl dresses, with push-up bras, they hold up one liter mass beers. Most people who stand on the table are ladies. My wife doesn't drink beer and she dislikes the Oktoberfest. For me it is too crowded but with some friends I see myself already dancing on these tables after a few beers.

  2. I remember going to something similar in Austria, but it was rather loud and raucous like it looks on your photos.

  3. Oh my, they even have an ape drinking a mug! Maybe because that is how some men act after having too many. I have always wanted to go to one, but after seeing this, I don't think so. All they do drink and dance. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but seeing things like in all your pictures is so much better and prettier.

  5. Looks interesting. Enjoy watching when the time comes. I am with Kristel, I would care for any of it as I don't like to see people drink too much and make fools of themselves. But then again, some would and some wouldn't.

  9. The famous "oktoberbeer festivals".
And everyone has so funny. Did you, Filip, drink at one time the big pint?
It is inconceivable how the waiters can carry so many big pints of beer at a time.
    Really fantastic images.
