The Little Mermaid and other statues in Copenhagen

The statue of the Little Mermaid in Copenhagen is one of the main attractions of the capital of Denmark. It displays a character out of a fairy tale from Hans Christian Andersen. It is about a mermaid that fell in love with a Prince and gave away her tongue to a witch in return of legs. She couldn’t talk to the prince and he married someone else. After trying to kill herself in the waves of the sea, she stayed alive but invisible for humans. In this state she had to do good things for a period of 30 years. A little further, I am posing with a big mermaid. They seem to love women statues with naked breasts here in Copenhagen, because you find these all over the city. We added some Copenhagen pictures of fountains and statues to this article.

  4. Lots of their art seems to be based on the sea. Wonder why that is? Maybe they have a big pot.
